Why is it that we think we are having a nice converation with our teens, but they feel it is an interrogation? I asked an innocent question at dinner last night and it turned into world war III. What about a photography class since she enjoys it too? And you could count it as an elective in the non school. Too funny. It doesn't sound like fun, does it? But oh, it was!! I used to do this all the time with my niece, Miss Jen. We had a blast! Plus she learned: to appreciate home-made cooking, exploring new recipes and shopping for the special ingredients, she experienced the pure joy and satifaction of the fruits of her own labor <em>and</em> we spent quality time together. Dancing like carefree idiots and kitchen floor picnics with popsicles occured quite often. I highly recommend it to anyone. Side bonuses... a very clean house and home-cooked meals. As my teens get older, it's just finding time to BE together as a family.
