I just can’t help myself. I walk into a bookstore and I can’t leave without a shiny new book to call mine. I need my fix of the fictional, the biographical, the informational.
My most recent purchases include:
- Walking in Circles Before Lying Down by Merrill Markoe
- Half Broken Things by Morag Joss (bought yesterday in the bigger city bookstore)
- My Lobotomy by Howard Dully
And when Paperback Swap sends me an email that a book on my ‘wish list’ is now available and do I want it????? You can find me doing a cerebral ‘happy dance’.
The most recent ’swaps’ I have received are:
- The Echo Maker by Richard Powers
- The Road by Cormac McCarthy (received in the mail yesterday)
- Silent Partner by Dina Matos McGreevey
What is on your nightstand? Is the stack so high it has formed a new stack by falling off the nightstand onto the floor? Help a gal out and tell me…help feed a healthy addiction.
And congratulations to Cindy from Kaleidoscope!!! Cindy is the winner of my most recent book giveaway. Stay tuned. As you can tell, I will have plenty more giveaways!!!
Other books on my nightstand…so I can assist in feeding your addiction:

Hey Danielle! You know, I had not been getting your RSS feeds lately and wondered if you’d stopped posting (since I get your posts via email) then I remembered you MOVED your site! Ha. I needed to resubscribe! Geez. I am so sorry. Thanks for your comment yesterday. I read Susan’s good post.
hugs across the miles,
Vicki(still trying to wake up)
morning danielle,
what a terrific addiction!
great day girlie,

I have lots and lots of old favorites sitting around that are read and reread, and a huge stack of books I want to read aloud to the kids (we are up to about 3-5 chapters a day which is as long as my voice will hold out.:)) I have a few series that I am collecting at the moment–all historical fantasy plus some manga I am collecting via paperbackswap. And I forgot to send you the list of animes. Have to do that.
And about the bedside table–my husband often complains of my leaning tower of books and how it overflows onto the extra bed (for sick kids) and the floor. I really do try to clean it up but…well, it recollects so fast.
I have “Before Green Gables” By Budge Wilson(I am a lover of Anne Shirley) It is a prequel.
“The Artist Way” by Julia Cameron an absolute must!
I also have a very boring book from my master’s coursework.
I’m a book junkie also. I have tons and tons of books lying around. Since I work at a newspaper, we get tons of free books in the mail to review, and sometimes we get to take some home. Thus, my stacks of books. I try to keep my spending at a minimum, so I avoid book stores most of the time, but if I go in one, God help me, I’ll spend more on books than I do on food for a week.
I would rather go to a book store than anywhere else. I have two stacks of boks, each at least two fee high, beside my bedside just waiting for me to read them.
Fortunately for my pocketbook, my mom is a bookstore addict, so I just borrow when she is done reading.
Right now I’m reading American Gods by Neil Gaiman, and from the library I have How Not To Look Old by Charla Krupp. lol
I loved Silent Partner…although now there’s some word that it may not be as accurate. Who knows for sure?
I am definitely a book store lover, too. I haven’t even done the Paperback Swap yet.
Hugs,
Susan
I will sell a shirt to buy a book
