Feeling a little better today. Went to the doctor yesterday with Mr. John in tow. I am going to give ‘better living through Chemistry’ another try.
Thanks everyone for responding with your personal strategies. Some additional strategies I have begun putting in place are:
- walking more
- dramatically re-evaluating my nutrition needs
- downsizing outside activities and commitments
- feathering my nest here at home
- increasing focus on my craft (photography and writing)
- declining counseling jobs during the summer
The last day of class for Summer B was last night. Therefore I have a full week off before getting back into the teaching routine again. I had an awesome class this semester and will miss them. That is the most difficult part of what I do…letting my ‘little chickadees’ go and make their way in the world. I really become attached to many of them. They are a bright light in the sometimes dark world of academia.
I have to get my grades posted by noon today, but after that I am going to continue cleaning that mess of a garage. I hope to have enough accomplished this week to be able to post it in next week’s Tackle it Tuesday. I try not to over do it as it gets really hot by about ten o’clock here. By then it is time to go back in and scrapbook (grin) in my air conditioned home office.
And then I will actually be in the kitchen later making shepard’s pie for dinner. We are all tired of frozen pizza, bologna sandwiches and hamburger helper without the meat (my favorite is the tuna without the tuna). I’m not much of a chef but my family does have ‘favorites’ that we actually all agree on. My homemade spaghetti being another favorite. However, we have to alternate between the types of noodles we use. My favorite are the elbow macaroni noodles but my two peas in a pod would rather have it with the rigatoni noodles (yuck!).
Well, my garage awaits as it is still somewhat cool after last night’s storm.
Thanks for being here. Your kind comments and encouraging words are always appreciated!
If you get a chance stop by my Daily Photo and check out my photo participation in Thursday’s Photo Challenge. This week’s theme is patterned.

Sorry you’re feeling blue, Danielle. Spring cleaning usually lifts my spirits! I wouldn’t know where to begin in my garage as I turned it over to my Dad!
I’m painting my kitchen in a few weeks! I love painting! Makes everything new again!
Hope all is well. Just returned from my trip. Still answering emails.
We love shepherd’s pie too. I think I’ve made it three times in the last two weeks. I’m not much of a cook either, but my kids are pretty understanding and make their own a lot of the time.
Enjoy your few days off!
glad you’re doing better.
i like seeing my chickadees since i no longer teach their class in church. fun.
night night, kathleen
In my research lately about diabetes I thought I had seen reference to bi-polar sufferers being helped by low carb diet. Here is one link but it you search you will find others.

Is it sad that I’m reading this and thinking, “Wow, I never tried the Helpers without the meat! That could be exciting.”
