Outside My Window...I am watching more finches than it is possible for the finch feeder to hold trying to get their morning meal. For the past few mornings they have been been flocking in droves to our area.
I am thinking…I have to go to the store today to get some more songbird food and finch food. Yet with the price of gas I will have to include this errand on my way to teach in the bigger city this evening.
I am also thinking… I really like this quote that I found over at Butterflies of the Moment:
It is necessary to write, if the days are not to slip emptily by. How else, indeed, to clap the net over the butterfly of the moment? For the moment passes, it is forgotten; the mood is gone; life itself is gone. ~Vita Sackville-West
I am thankful for…having family and friends to share in the 4th of July traditions that have evolved over the years.
From the kitchen…we grilled out this weekend so there is nothing but leftovers from the kitchen. Brats, hamburgers, hotdogs, potato salad, baked beans and peppers and onions (for the brats). There is enough food to last the week – yippee – no kitchen duty this week.
I am wearing…the usual oversized t-shirt and pajama pants. I will have to write this post at a different time of day so y’all don’t think that I never seem to make it into my other standard wardrobe of a regular size t-shirt and jeans (grin).
I am creating…a mental wellness plan. My anxiety and panic attacks are getting out of control with depression and hypochondria as their sidekicks.
I am going…to try to get motivated.
I am reading…still reading The Lakeside Chronicles. I am on book three (there are four in this series).
I am hoping…to work my way out of this depression and anxiety that has been settling in on me over the past few weeks.
I am hearing…the garage door opening as my husband leaves for work.
Around the house…the bed linens need to be tackled. This is one of my least favorite chores.
One of my favorite things…our new puppy. She is beginning to become comfortable in her new home and just loves to cuddle. Pet therapy.
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: A hair appointment, a library program for Sam called TechnoPop, advertised as a guided introduction to photo manipulation, game building, and animation using freely available applications, dinner with extended family at one of our favorite riverside restaurants, The Crystal River Ale House.
Here is picture thought I am sharing…

I really appreciate the quote – it sort of gives a purpose to blogging (and in a much more timely manner than I’ve been doing lately!).
Thanks for the link to the restaurant. Dear friends of ours will be moving to the Inverness area in a few months, and we like having recommended places to go.
Wasn’t Riley cute as a ring-bearer? She’s a very sweet dog, but so timid. Surprisingly, she laid down during the ceremony and went to sleep!
This is a great quote! I had to read it a few times to fully digest it!! Thank you for posting it. I’ll take this encouragement anyday!! You may feel depressed right now, but even in the midst of that you have truly encouraged me this morning, thank you!!:}

I often find myself getting properly dressed on Monday mornings, just so that I don’t have to report that I’m still in my pjs week after week! Praying that you have a lovely day!
Blessings,
Kym
Sounds like a busy week–same here, though not as whirl wind as last week started out.
Puppies can be great. So much work, but so very cute. But it is hard for me to think about puppies and not get the Veggie Tales song “Puppies” stuck in my head.
We all love grilled brats at our house! They’re almost better leftover and cold than right off the grill. LOL! You know, we have never been to the Crystal River Ale House. I’ll put it on the list. Greg and I desperately need to do a date night. That would be a good option.
I enjoyed reading your daybook entry – I hope and pray that you beginto feel better soon!

Thank you for inviting us in and sharing your morning with us! The quote was lovely. What an unexpected joy: no KP for the week! That’s a gift in and of itself, lol!
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers; may you begin to step out of the darkness soon.
Blessings,
Shani
that is a great quote. Love the image.
Wonderful quote! I am sorry that this cloud of depression and anxiety is settling on you right now. Praying that it lifts soon and that until then you are able to take one step at a time and just “do the next thing”.
I seem to be wearing the same thing each Monday, too! LOL!
Good for you on the kitchen full of leftovers!
A cuddly puppy sounds like fun. I’ve never had a dog. We do enjoy our two cats. One of them loves to be petted and to be on our laps.
I hope you’ll be feeling better soon.
Great quote
I enjoyed reading your list and I’m curious about the Lakeside Chronicles, I’ll have to pick those up
Love the quote, too. &:o) And just the name of your favorite restaurant “Crystal River Ale House” makes me wanto to go find it! Hope it’s a wonderful evening out for you you. So nice to visit with you this morning via “Simple Woman..”
I enjoyed reading your daybook. I am sorry that you are suffering with depression and will pray for (((you.)))
Your left-overs sound delicious! : )
We have a new puppy too and she is a comfort to me too!
Happy Monday!

Last week I copied that quote into my quote book. I have had too many butterflies go missing! Hope your mental wellness plan is coming along as are those bed linens.
I love summer barbeques and leftovers too
Another great post! I just love these. I feel like I’m in your world, hearing what you hear, seeing what you see, and being a part of your life–if just for a few moments.
Cookout leftovers are the best – hope you have a good week.
“a mental wellness plan. My anxiety and panic attacks are getting out of control with depression and hypochondria as their sidekicks.” Amen. May the Lord bless and reward your efforts and what IS a mental wellness plan. I need one too
. Shoot me an email if you ever want to do dueling panic/anxiety attacks! (I’m serious) If we’re gonna have ‘em, at least they could be the littlest bit of fun!
Thanks for stopping by my blog, Danielle! When I saw that quote, I just knew that it would make a great blog title and vision! So glad that it gave you food for thought.
I am sorry to hear about your battle with depression. . .I will be praying for the joy of the Lord to be your strength!
Incidentally, I noticed the towns of Inverness and Crystal River mentioned in your post. . .Are you a Floridian by chance?
So fun to be back and catch up. I have so much to share but my server isn’t playing at the moment so I’m catching up on reading instead!
Hugs,
Holly
I enjoyed reading your Daybook! We have a new puppy too, and she keeps us busy. If you have lots of sun, you should be able to plant the sunflower seeds. :0)
