My Daybook ~ August 4

Hosted by Peggy @ The Simple Woman

Outside My Window…I see mega holes where my ‘garden’ was going to be. It seems as though our new puppy Snickers has this intense ambition to be the first dog to dig her way to China (giggle) from Florida.

I am thinking…of giving my anxiety/antidepressant medicine another chance.

I am thankful for…my husband’s family. They are amazing examples of what ‘family’ means.

From the kitchen…I had swiss cheese on Hawaiian bread with black bean and corn salsa with tortilla chips.

I am wearing…jeans. What no pj’s????? Nope. It’s two in the afternoon by golly!! I always get dressed by 1:00 (grin).

I creating…nothing at the moment but a quiet haven at home.

I am going…to visit my mother in law later this afternoon if she is not taking a nap. I know that if my husband and I feel ‘lost’ without his Dad, her sense of ‘lost’ must be magnified a billion times over.

I am readingWolf Shadow. Don’t laugh. Romance books are now my new best friends. They work better than Calgon in ‘taking me away’ from the sadness that has been such a part of our lives these past few months.

I am hoping…that my husband’s going back to work today has been therapeutic for him, if only for a little while.

I am hearing…the birds sing screech. Although it is the middle of the afternoon, they still manage to find a cool spot in the orange tree and serenade harass the squirrels that are stealing their food from the feeders.

Around the house…we are catching up on the routine tasks like cleaning bathrooms and kitchen floors. It is amazing how easily those areas can get out of control when no one is paying attention.

One of my favorite things…watching this season’s Big Brother…..were they not just plain dumb not to vote Jessie out last week?????? What is with that??????

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: Calling 4-H for their fall schedule of ‘groups’, submitting grades for Summer B (I’m on vacation until Fall semester starts on August 18th….yippee!!), therapy, hair appointment….actually my hair appointment can be considered therapy don’t you think???? and getting all the throw rugs and bed linens washed.

Here is picture thought I am sharing

Miss Sam and her cousin sending ‘message’ balloons to their grandfather up in heaven. Miss Sam’s message:

“Grandpaw, I love you and I miss you. Have fun on God’s grand golf course.”

It is nice, the sharing of your day, I might join that too although my days seem to be getting more boring as I get older. I really have to get something to do.

I thought that was a wonderful gesture sending the message balloons and helpful in the grieving process for the youngsters

I love it that they sent the balloons up! That’s a great way to work through it all.

I’m continuing to pray for you, my friend. I still love the Daybook posts so much.

    Hugs,

    Susan

Love the picture. What a great idea! Have a great 2-week break. We, on the other hand, are back to school today. But a week at the timeshare is coming up at the end of August. Certainly I can survive until then!?

I agree…hair appointments are definitely therapy (and I’m long overdue!).

I do enjoy reading your Daybook posts (they give me motivation to stop and consider these little points in my own life). It sounds as if you’re merging back into the everyday nicely.

I like this meme. Your lunch sounds yummy, my bathrooms practically always are neglected, your daughter sent her grandpaw a lovely message.

I’ve been watching BB10 with dd2, and she’s just enamoured with Jesse…so I must watch my tongue.

Hope a little sunshine finds itself into each day this week
