I met Heidi when I first stepped foot into cyberspace almost three years ago. She is the woman behind the blog ‘God’s Grace in Practice‘. This past year God has placed Heidi on a journey that has her stepping out in faith with what at times may seem like barely enough light to see the step she is on. Although her story is not mine to tell (you can read all about her journey over at her place in cyberspace), it is my desire to tell you how remarkable this young woman is.
I have always admired Heidi for her honesty and her intellect when writing about topics that for many would be too controversial to tackle. She has a spirit about her that wants you to have her as a neighbor. Someone you can swap books and recipes with. Someone you can tell the secrets of your heart to and be encouraged. Someone that, although she has much to care for, she will always care for you.
Heidi has a servant’s heart (although she may tend to disagree). Perhaps this is why God has placed her on this extra special journey. A journey that has enlightened me. A journey that has broadened my perspective. A journey that truly exemplifies God’s grace.
What really touched my heart and began this desire to write this post was not only this picture that Heidi posted but also the women who left their links on her Mr. Linky:
- Sandy from Life with Jessica
- Misty from A Day in My Life
- Megan from Megzys World
- Rachelle from Walk with the Riedmiller Family
- Rhonda from Me and The Boys
- Beth from Life with Andrew
- Karen from Ben and his Brothers
- Christy from Our Adventures with Baylee
I would never had met these women if Heidi did not have a servant’s heart. She is taking God’s extra special blessing and doing the work He wants her to do.
As for me, I just wanted to tell you about my cyber friend Heidi and what she is doing, in her quiet and graceful way, to increase awareness of Cornelia de Lange Syndrome, Treatment and Protocols and the families that are on this journey with her.
I hope you take some time this weekend to visit all the links provided here. You will be blessed.

Those of us who are blessed with healthy children and grandchildren take it too much for granted. I’ve been learning the past few years just how much of a gift good health and Life is. Reading Heidi’s blog this morning made me stop and give thanks for all that I DO have. Thanks for bringing her to our attention, Danielle. It’s supposed to be 86 and BEAUTIFUL here in Portland today…I was up at 4 am, sitting on the couch in the dark drinking coffee, ‘listening’ to the quiet, and enjoying the stars. Have a good weekend, my friend. Oh, and thanks for stopping by my pity party! ;-D
Hey Danielle
Welcome to the declutter challenge. You’re not behind – just jump in where you are. The ladies are VERY encouraging so I’m sure you’ll be welcomed with open arms
Lots of organising love coming your way

Hi Danielle! Thank you for your beautiful post. I, too, enjoy Heidi’s blog and met her through cyberspace. I am Rachelle from Walk with the Riedmiller Family and we all try in our own differerent ways to raise awareness about CdLS. Thank you for helping us out.
Thank you very much. I’m not quite sure what to say.
Danielle, I’ve just met Heidi recently and it was a joy to learn more about her from your post. I’m not surprised at all. I’ve been enjoying her blog for awhile now. I’ve always thought Baylee’s greatest gift to me has been the people she has brought into my life…people I would never know otherwise. I am honored to call them friends.
