My Daybook ~ September 29

Outside My Window…the bird feeders are empty again. Darn those squirrels (even though they are very entertaining).

I am thankful that…we should have the right hitch on our SUV to tote the boat by the weekend.

From the kitchen…once again not much going on there. However, I did succumb to an impulse buy at the register this week to get things going with my Fall Into Cooking meme. I bought the new Pillsbury Fall Baking magazine. I can see you drooling!!!

I am wearing…capri jeans and a ’should have already thrown away’ gauzy summer shirt with paisley swirls…but it is comfortable and cool. And I am all about the cool.

I am creating…my inventory for Digital Photography Designs. I seem to go in spits and spurts and need to get in gear to catch the ‘Christmas’ rush.

From the learning rooms…we pretty much went full throttle on the ‘unschooling’ last week. Now it’s back to our regularly scheduled and less stressful program of learning, the LifePac curriculum. It’s nice to take a break but I am so comforted by being able to ‘track’ according to traditional standards Miss Sam’s learning of core subjects. It’s the educator in me I reckon.

I am going…crazy in my office. It has gotten out of control chaotic. I know it is the sign of a creative mind but I truly can’t create in a cluttered unorganized space. Guess what I will be doing when I finish this post (in between doing laundry, doing dishes, getting a lecture ready for tonight’s classes and oh yea, checking Miss Sam’ work)? CLEANING MY WORK SPACE!!!

I am readingOutside In by Courtney Thorne-Smith. It’s okay. What I would call a ‘beach novel’. What I have read so far, it reads more like her bio than a novel as it starts off talking about eating disorders. It’s a great book to lull me to sleep at night.

I am hoping…to get my office back in order. Do you hear me??? I can’t think clearly with all this clutter. Who created this mess anyway???????

Around the house…it smells like someone is baking a pumpkin pie. I saw that coffee come out of your nose as you read the word ‘baking’ and a slim connection to ‘my house’. Actually, Walgreen’s finally has their fall candles out. You know the ones I am talking about. The $4.00 ones. They are actually better than Yankee Candles. Their fragrance is not overwhelming yet it lasts a long time and seems to float throughout your whole house. No this is not a pay-per-post!

One of my favorite things…is getting a spa pedicure…..which is why this post is a little late in being published. I was out early this morning getting one - my feet feel all perky and pretty now.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week:

  • getting all my counseling clients scheduled
  • Sam’s first riding lesson at Rymer Ranch
  • Snicker’s to the vet to get her stitches out
  • Marbles to the groomers to get the stink out (giggle)
  • approve my Spring teaching schedule

Here is a picture thought I am sharing

LOL! What crafty wee critters those squirrels are!

Sounds like a few of us are into the Fall Cleaning mode! :)

LOL! So I’m not the only one talking about squirrels getting into bird feeders today. I do always feel bad about getting angry at them - they’re so darn cute!

Squirrels are a nuisance but they are so fun to watch (my cat agrees)!

You know I don’t think that I’ve ever seen the squirrels getting into my feeder. Perhaps it’s because it is in a birch tree and they’re not interested in the tree. We’ll see what happens when I convince hubby to put another feeder out and this time in a spruce tree where it will be better sheltered from the winter winds that we get.

The nail polish has worn off my toes b/c I haven’t had time to tend to them in weeks and weeks. I have discovered that I think my unpainted toes are pretty boring.
So, Walgreens has good candles. I will have to see if there is one nearby. I am always in the market for good candles. Of course, I have no idea what is still packed. I think I had a lot when we packed.
