Much to my amazement, I did make last week’s recipe Zesty Slow Cooking Barbeque Chicken. It was awesome!!!! The best barbeque I have ever had ~ and I’m a Georgia girl and I KNOW barbeque. I did change it up a little bit once it was all cooked. I added an additional 1/4 cup of brown sugar (I like my barbeque sweet) and I thickened it up as it was a bit too saucy for me. Here is the end result:

I served it with my homemade barbeque beans and Bisquick biscuits. Do you know I am the only one in my family who ate it??????? I live with some gourmet challenged individuals.
The recipe for this week is one I found over at Abiding Branch:
Pumpkin Dump Cake
Ingredients:
3 eggs
1 large can evaporated milk
1 16oz can pumpkin
1 ½ cups sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla1 box yellow cake mix
Pecans
2 sticks of margarineDirections:
Mix the above (except the cake mix, pecans, margarine) and pour into an ungreased 9×13 inch pan. Sprinkle 1 box yellow cake mix over the top. Melt 2 sticks of margarine and pour over top. Sprinkle with pecans. Bake one hour at 350 degrees. Serve warm with cool whip or ice cream.

I don’t know about you, but there is something about this Scarecrow’s expression that just cracks me up when paired with how his (her) hands are positioned. Like he (she) could be saying “You just won’t believe the crazy human that snapped my photo today thinking that I was ‘all that’.”

I was drooling over the photo of the bbq chicken – I can’t believe no one else in your household ate it! You should’ve called…I’d drive up for that! The dump cake sounds very interesting…I love anything pumpkin!
Cute scarecrow. He looks to me as if he’s playing innocent. Wonder what he’s been up to?
I cooked once, and the fire department has never been the same
I think I will try this pumpkin recipe. Looks yummy. I have to wait until I know the in laws are coming though. Regular dump cake is so rich that we never finish the whole pan. I only make it when I know we’re having company.
Sorry that your family wouldn’t eat what you made, that is hard. This week’s recipe sounds good.
I’ll have to let you know tomorrow how our Texas Chili goes, I’m not sure that the girl will be happy with me but oh well, she’ll get over it Saturday when she learns we’ll be eating pork again.
Those recipes sound so delicious! I love finding new crockpot recipes.
I noticed that you are not using the Mr Linky. Well this is where you will find my results and new attempt: http://akhmmm.wordpress.com/?p=826
I am liking this meme, Danielle, as it is making me dig up recipes and try new ones. Who knows I just might stumble across something that just makes everyone in my family very happy.
I don’t know what I was thinking but I gave you the wrong link above. The correct one is:
