A memorable moment…when I pick Miss Sam up from her Wednesday night youth group and she screams ‘I had a great time’ and begins telling me about all the antics of the teenage girl she keeps so hidden at home.
I am grateful…that gas has gone down to $2.86 a gallon.
I laugh…at the dogs trying to understand why it is they have to go through TWO doors to get outside now!
I love…that I have a hair appointment today. I was so impressed by Miss Kris’ photo of Emmy Lou Harris that I have begun dreaming about letting my gray grow out. I may discuss it with my hairdresser today.
Something new….my new screened in patio – or my new lanai as we call it in the south. I love.love.love it. I had fought the idea for many years when my husband mentioned it. Last night when I told him again how much I loved it….his response was ”I knew you wanted it’. And he is right. I don’t know why there are some things I deny myself because of those old feelings of not deserving them. Glad he saw through my ruse and went ahead and had it done. I have yet to get it all situated so I can enjoy my morning coffee out there but the decorating possibilities are limitless. Bealls Outlet here I come!!!
I will celebrate…my new lanai. I was going to head out to the Cedar Key Seafood Festival this weekend but I do believe I will stay home and ‘nest’ in my new space.
A joyful picture from this week…my new space:

31 Days of Autumn: Day 17

Hope you join in the fun of the Joyful Journal and bless us with this week’s blessings in your life!!

Have a great visit with the hairdresser. I say go for the gray! Lanai. My grandparents from Florida kept using that word when they were visiting…it sounded like a foreign language, lol. Patio. It’s a patio! I guess some parts of me are die hard Yank.
Hi!
Is Cedar Key very far fomr you? We have talked about going there for a getaway. Its such an adorable little town!
I love love your new lanai!!! so jealous! You sound good.
love your new space! that looks great!
I haven’t colored my hair since January. I have a nice silver sheen to my hair now. I like it and plan to let it go completely natural. I say go for it.
I love that word ‘lanai.’ Seems to perfectly describe your new space.
That was so sweet of your hubby to know what you would want, make it and be happy with your joy!!
Whatever you call it, it is your private space where bugs cannot bother you.
I really like the Joyful Journal idea. Your new space looks like a great spot to just sit and enjoy the peace and quiet or to read a good book. I hope you make full use of it often.
Love the lanai. Your gas is a bit cheaper than ours. It is ironic that gas is cheaper now with the bad economy.
I love love love sitting on the lanai…I need one too…but I keep waiting until I can put a pool in with it. Who knows if that will ever happen?
Hope you’re well.
