My Daybook ~ October 20

Outside My Window…there are no bird feeders. Not even empty ones. I had to take them all down because of the squirrels. They were close to the house and this increased the odds that the squirrels would take to scampering across the screen of the new lanai. Now you know I can’t have them doing that!

I am thankful that…Mr. John was able to go fishing out into the gulf this weekend in his ‘new’ boat. He and his buddy caught several sharks and a stingray. All of which were ‘catch and release’.

From the kitchen…not much. Miss Sam is ‘scheduled’ to bake a cake this afternoon. Home Economics 101. Not really. We just need something sweet and my cakes always split down the middle.

I am creating…more quiet time for God’s Word. Now that I have my wonderful new screened in patio – I am out there every morning with a cup of coffee and my bible ( I absolutely love. love. love. my new Life Application Study Bible). As opposed to a cup of coffee and in front of the computer.

From the learning rooms…hmmm. I am having to restructure where Miss Sam does her lessons. I have been allowing her to do them in her room with music on. However, there is an increasing amount of corrections that need to be done. New rule as of today – she has to do her lessons at the kitchen counter.

I am going…to be on the lookout for some squirrel resistant bird feeders!

I am readingBlue Screen by Robert B. Parker. It is one of those ‘can’t put down’ reads. I have always enjoyed the Jesse Stone movies on TV (based on books written by Robert B. Parker). Blue Screen is book number five in the Sunny Randall detective series where she meets Jesse Stone (played by Tom Selleck – swoon- on the made for TV movies). I hate to back track, but when I return the library books today I am going to check out book number one.

I am hoping…to get to scrapbook today.

Around the house…my goal was to scrapbook this weekend. However, due to a busy week last week we were quite lax in putting things away, keeping up with the laundry, etc. etc. Therefore we spent much of the weekend pulling our home out of the dumps so that the health department would not be making a visit today. So our home is fairly clean this bright and sunny Monday morning (the kitchen floor got washed – even though the mop broke mid-cleaning and I had to make a mop run). However, our bathrooms are still pretty yucky…oh well, no home is perfect all of the time.

One of My Favorite Things…is by far sitting out on my screened in patio every morning. Even with the cooler weather here – it is just an awesome way to begin each day.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week:

  • making some headway on my photography projects (after I balance the checkbook to see if it’s even possible)
  • Miss Sam’s horse lessons
  • Miss Sam’s braces appointment – she was supposed to have them off in August but it looks like it may be a few more months. Then the arguments about wearing a retainer will be swinging into full force (ugh).
  • just our regular routine of school, clients, and letting the dogs in and out.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing

I love the images of you on your screened in patio with your coffee and your Bible, and your husband catching stingray and shark! It transports me to a different world!

Glad that you are spending good quality time on your new patio w/your coffee, I too love the seasonal creamers, and the Word. I really need to carve out a space for me again to do this.
