A memorable moment…was when I wrote out the last check for Miss Sam’s braces!!! Yippee! She has about three more months before she can get them off but at least now they are paid for.
I am grateful…for my home. Driving home from dropping Miss Sam off this morning I drove by some apartments and remembered how it was to live somewhere that was not all your own (and the mortgage company’s…grin) and that didn’t have a back yard or a place to have a garden. I so love my home.
I laugh…when the lady at the car drop off line where Miss Sam is a mentor reaches to open the door and there is no one there. Miss Sam DOES NOT want to be dropped off in the car drop off line. The rule is that I park and let her get out to walk across the parking lot. What happened to the days when I had to hold her hand to cross the parking lot????
I love…early voting. I voted yesterday. It took five minutes out of my day. Plus my voting center is at the library so I was also able to pick up two books I had ordered. How about you?? Have you voted yet?
Something new….actually they are ‘old and well loved’ but ‘new’ to me. Miss Sam and I went ‘junking’ yesterday and we found quite a few treasures. For Miss Sam it was two books on creatures of the night and one absolutely fabulous ‘encyclopedia’ on dinosaurs. For me it was several books about ‘appropriate behaviors’ for my little pre-schoolers. Here are some of the titles
- Simon Minds His Manners
- My Friends
- Just a Mess
- No Biting
- Saying What You Mean
and a couple of ‘gotta have’ baskets, and my most wonderful find…(see below).
I will celebrate…my friend’s son getting a camera for his birthday. It is a half school day today and I promised my friend’s son that the next half day I would take him to the wildlife park to take pictures. So when I pick up Miss Sam from her day of mentoring I will also pick up my friend’s child and we are heading out to the wildlife park even though there is 100% chance of rain today. What’s a little rain when you are passionate about taking pictures.
A joyful picture from this week…my treasure from our ‘junking’ field trip:

I plan on making it into a graphic for the sidebar of my website.
31 Days of Autumn: Day 24

Hope you join in the fun of the Joyful Journal and bless us with this week’s blessings in your life!!

Hi, Danielle!
I’m sorry I haven’t been keeping up recently! I have missed coming in and doing my Joyful Journal each week!
I LOVE the crossstitch, it’s so pretty!
I hope you have a great weekend!

Huzzah on paying those braces off! Those books are quite a find. Maybe I should look for a “no biting” book at the library for my son. I don’t know why I didn’t think of that before. I just got one on our last trip about teasing.
I love the church steeple picture. I hope you did not have 100% rain for your day of taking pictures! I participated this week. I always enjoy doing so.
Jenny Rose just got her braces off two weeks ago. Tell Sam that she’ll wear her tongue off licking her teeth! Lovely web site!
