Wednesday Wisdom: Colossians 1

Photobucket

  1. We should live in constant contact and communication with God.
  2. We must not cling to our own ideas and try to blend them into Christianity.
  3. Faith, love, and hope – these are the three main emphases of Christianity.
  4. Christian love is a decision to act in the best interests of others.
  5. How is the gospel reaching others through your life?
  6. We should remember what Christ taught and follow his words as our ultimate authority.
  7. We must believe in the deity of Jesus Christ (that Jesus is God). This is a central truth of Christianity.
  8. God is not only the Creator of the world, but he is also its Sustainer. In him, everything is held together, protected, and prevented from disintegrating into chaos. Because Christ is the sustainer of all life, none of us is independent from him. We are all his servants who must daily trust him for protecting us, caring for us, and sustaining us.

When you don’t know how to pray for someone use Paul’s prayer pattern for the Colossians. We can request that they:

  • understand God’s will
  • gain spiritual wisdom
  • please and honor God
  • bear good fruit
  • grow in the knowledge of God
  • be filled with God’s strength
  • have great endurance and patience
  • stay full of Christ’s joy
  • give thanks always.

Amen sister, we should live in constant contact with Christ Jesus! I suggest reading “Whose Child Is This” if you have daddy or mommy issues. Thanks for your blog I find it encouraging every time I read it!
