My Joyful Journal ~ January 25

A memorable moment…when Mr. John suggested we go out to eat. He very rarely does this and I am always thrilled when he takes the initiative to suggest something that I truly enjoy.

I am grateful…for sunshine and warm temperatures. We are FINALLY looking at highs of 80 degrees later this week. Can I hear an AMEN??!!!!

I laugh…more now that the chemicals in my brain are being managed successfully.

I love..that I have the freedom to read and study my bible.

Something new….books, books, and more books. That’s what happens when Barnes and Noble is re-locating to a bigger and better location with 30% off and a 10% coupon:

  • Crime and Punishment by Fydor Dostoevsky. I read this awesome book in high school and have been mesmerized by the human mind/condition ever since.
  • Of Human Bondage by W. Somerset Maugham.

Can you tell that this is the year of the classics for me? It all started when, after many unsuccessful attempts, I read (and loved) Jane Eyre.

A joyful picture from this week:

Today’s Around the Square: is Thia from An (Un)Tangled Web. I am always inspired and amazed at how she manages with three little ones (three and under!!!). Her honesty at how her days go (or don’t go) help me with my perspective, that we can either choose to get tangled up in our woes and worries or we can choose to become (un)tangled and make the best of what the Lord has given us for that particular day. Thia is truly amazing. Stop by and tell her hello – it’s probably been mighty cold up in New York and a warm hello would be deeply appreciated!!

Today I am grateful for: did I mention warm weather????????

Today I will simplify my life: labeling all Miss Sam’s subject notebooks and tabbing all the different areas of study within those subjects. It will uncomplicate the evaluation process. Can you believe it has been almost a year since I began homeschooling??? My what a journey it has been.

You are just too kind Danielle. I am laughing though b/c another project I am getting involved in made me think and I have moved my blog! Still with blogger, just at Harvest of Pearls now.
It is mighty cold up here and I am dreaming of your 80 degree weather. I believe our windchill is in the negative today.
