My Daybook ~ February 9

Hosted by Peggy @ The Simple Woman

Outside My Window…It’s bright and sunny and the backyard needs raking. We haven’t gotten to that part of our ‘home school’ lesson yet. We are still working at picking up all the river rocks that I thought was a good idea several years ago and have now ended up being dragged into the house by one aussie shepherd puppy (that shall remain nameless) and sometimes swallowed and thrown back up. Ewwwww…..TMI.

I am thankful….that we live in Florida now that the ‘freeze warnings’ are a thing of the past. Still too early to start spring plantings…we usually have one more freeze before Easter.

From the kitchen…other than hamburgers and frozen pizzas….not much going on there…but I have a few plans for later in the week.

I am creating…a book with my photos and quotes. Since I bought that fabulous watch this weekend I have to put my photography supply order on hold(it’s all about priorities) and I do have the supplies for the book on hand. The dilemma now is whether to use quotes by other people or to search through my own writings for appropriate quotes. What do you think?

From the learning rooms…we did FINALLY tackle putting that bookcase together:

Did I mention that she can read Japanese????

We had to enlist some ‘muscle’.

I am going…to start ‘designing’ a new summer wardrobe to match my new watch. This is all part of the ‘Simple Abundance’ readings that I will post later this week.

I am reading…the third book in the Twilight series, Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer. Have I mentioned before that I absolutely love this series???!!!!! I have Breaking Dawn on my bookcase ready to read in the next few days.

I am hoping…to get Sam’s homeschool planner set up for this week. I usually do this on the weekends but I had too much fun playing this weekend.

Around the house…a few things here and there need catching up with but my wonderful husband kept things from getting out of control while I was out having fun this weekend.

One of My Favorite Things…is doing this Daybook. I always print off every post I write and place them in a notebook (for future ‘expansion’) and I always smile at the Daybook posts because ‘there is magic in ordinary days’.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: trying to schedule some ‘downtime’ while trying to catch up from being sick for two weeks.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing

The bookcase is complete and filling up fast with Miss Sam’s mangas.

Today’s ‘Around the Square: is Joy from Thoughts of Joy. I love.love.love not only visiting her website but I also love and enjoy the email conversations that we have had over the years. I have learned about so many excellent books from not only her but also from her readers and the book series that they all participate in. There is also a wealth of wonderful information provided on her sidebar if you are looking for a ‘good’ book to read. I hope you take the time to stop by her place….she will definitely bring some ‘joy’ into your day!!

Today I am grateful for: my voice. It’s not back to full capacity and I still have to baby it….but I can at least communicate more effectively than I have been for the past two weeks.

Today I am going to simplify my life: by getting started on two projects that have been nipping at the back of my creative mind.

I love a new bookcase! What fun! I’ve read all the Twilight books. Breaking Dawn was, well, interesting. Not how I would have ended the series, but hey. Not my books, right? LOL

I am getting some stuff done first b/c I always feel better having done so. Soon I will take some time with the kidlets though. My maternal grandparents are living in Floriday. My paternal grandmother lives in Myrtle Beach (she’s the one with cancer).

Maybe you should do a photo book of both – one with famous quotes and another that’s just yours? I’d start with one that 100% yours though ’cause that just matches the photos in my mind. :)

    Hugs,
    Holly

I am glad you had a good weekend. It’s great that you’re looking ahead to the warmth that is coming. It still is pretty far away here.

You’ll have to explain about the wardrobe to match your watch thing…

Great job with the book shelves. They ARE difficult to put together. :)

If there’s plat pack furniture to be put together in our house it’s usually me that does it. Partly because I get impatient and partly because hubby will no doubt completely lose his temper at least once while attempting it.
His work mates think it’s fantastic, he fetches it one evening, goes to work the next day, comes home and it’s done. They want to know how to get their wives to do it.
