There is nothing so horrifying as a sick teenage girl! Pass that bottle of Xanax please. Make that two bottles.
In other news:
- My computer had to be hauled away to the computer hospital. Seems as though the virus can’t be destroyed and my ‘computer guy’ has to strip it down to how I bought it. Thankfully he was able to transfer everything from My Documents to an external hard drive before erasing my entire hard drive.
- The dryer is fixed.
- My stomach virus is now in the ‘can live with’ stage.
Today’s ‘Around the Square’: is Linda from 2nd Cup of Coffee. I have been reading Linda for years. Go over and pay a visit. You will sure to have coffee spurting out your nose from laughing so hard.
Today I am grateful: that my computer is not totally toast and that we have Miss Sam’s. I am also grateful for all my blogging friends that stopped by and provided some much appreciated support as I navigate these mere bumps in the road.
Today Payday I will simplify my life: by purchasing that external hard drive that Holly and Linda recommended.
Samantha’s Corner:
Time: Midnight
Samantha: Can I have a doughnut?
Mom: You just took your head out of the puke pot.
Samantha: I’m a complicated individual.

Except maybe a 10-month-old teething 3 teeth at once and an almost 3-yr-old who’s going stir crazy being stuck in the house because of the weather. Both have nasty colds, too. Sigh. Grandma just goes with the flow.
I hope everyone, and the computer, is on the mend soon.
I’ve been giving a lot of thought to getting an external hard drive thingy too. I still have family tree files on my old computer that the guy I bought this computer from was supposed to take off and save to some component or other, then transfer them to a cd or dvd so I’d have them easily available but he never did that. (I still have the old computer -it works ok but is slow, doesn’t have a lot of the things this computer has.)
Maybe if I get one, I can get my next door neighbor’s son who is a bit of a whiz kid with computers, to hook something like that up and pull those files off for me. Then he could burn them to a cd or dvd for me too. Hmmm. Wonder if that would work? Then, with the other drive, I could copy all the files I would need to keep in reserve to that place for safe keeping just in case something comes along and wreaks some havoc with my lovely system here! Heaven forbid that would happen, ya know.
Glad to hear you’re feeling better. My grandson had a bout Monday night with vomiting -all over himself, his bed, you name it -for about 2-3 hours, but he was fine, up to his old tricks yesterday. But I felt like crap! Thankfully, I didn’t get sick to my stomach though -just cold -chills all day and the stomach just feeling a bit off-center, ya know.
Praying for you guys! Hope everyone is well soon.
External hard drives are wonderful things!
Hope everyone is restored to health soon!
I’m so sorry you need it! Don’t feel bad though, I got mine for the exact same reason! Even though my computer made it home from the hospital it was never the same and the day it died I converted to my iMac.
Hugs,
Holly
