Tell Me I’m Not Alone

So how does this happen??? I am currently reading 5 absolutely enthralling books at one time:

Inkspell by Cornelia Funke

Invisible No More: The Secret Lives of Women Over Fifty by Renee Fisher, Joyce Kramer and Jean Peelen

The Second Lady by Irving Wallace

The Fellowship of the Ring by J. R. R. Tolkien

Betrayal by John Lescroart

Perhaps it is because one is in my car, one is on my nightstand, one is on my side table by my spot on the couch, one is in my school bookbag and the other is on the table out on the lanai. I just can’t bear to be without a book within easy reach…especially if I am caught at a red light for any extended period of time.

So how about you???? How many books are you reading at one time????

Today I am grateful for: the freedom that my husband I have in our job situations to take tomorrow off to celebrate our ‘baby’s” fourteenth birthday!!!!!

This is my type of post!!! :)

Now, I like to have three books going at once. I used to only have two books going – one fiction and the other non-fiction. Over the last couple of years I have altered that plan to three books of different genres – usually fiction, thriller and a short story collection. And, either the fiction or thriller is an audiobook.

Currently I’m reading: Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet (Ford) and a short story collection titled Lighting the Dark Side (Potter). I’m listening to The Night Stalker (Swain), which is the second in a series.

    Happy Reading, Danielle!

Not me–I have one book going at a time but then I barely leave the house and if I do it is for things where I will not have time to read (unless a doctors appt, but then I take my book with me.) I read 1 new book in a little under a day (spent maybe 5 with tons of interruptions reading Ender’s Shadow yesterday.) On the other hand I keep books I have read before in EVERY room and reread favorite bits as needed.

I only have one book going at time… tho I get many projects involving reading going at the same time….

My ole mind draws a limit on me at a certain point..

Guilty. It’s been even harder with my Kindle because I can have SO many at one time. I find I shift through them based on my mood. I do have a personal rule about finishing so I tend to lean heavier on one until it’s done, but I’m always reading more than one book at a time!

    Hugs,
    Holly

It must be contagious… I have at least that many going too. I love reading a good book. One of my five is Inkspell too.

I don’t have 5 books going right now, but I usually keep a book or magazine in certain places around the house and in my car for those moments when I catch myself just sitting.

    Happy Birthday, Miss Sam!!

You’re a better woman than I am! I can read 2 or 3 books at a time, but 5…? You are awesome! I am very happy to read your comment that you find Invisible No More: The Secret Lives of Women Over 50 enthralling since I am one of the authors! Jean, a co-author, lives not too far from you in Florida. Thank you for the accolade. I hope you continue to enjoy our book and would appreciate feedback on our Web site. We are especially curious to find out how you heard about our book, and hope you will read our next book, which we expect to publish this spring titled Saving the Best for Last: Creating Our Lives After 50.
