Five Reasons Why I Love Facebook:Reason Number One

 I Love Facebook

My morning routine is quite simple:

  • I get up and let the dogs out
  • I get the dogs’ treats ready
  • I let the dogs in
  • I make a pot of coffee
  • I go out with the dogs and sit in the sun for a few minutes
  • We all come back in
  • I make a cup of coffee and settle in with my Bible chapter for the morning.
  • I let the dogs out again.
  • I check for comments on my blog, I check my emails and then I check out all the updates on my Facebook friends.
  • I wake up Miss Sam and we get started on our day.

Let’s back up for a moment to the part of my morning routine where…’I check out all the updates on my Facebook friends‘. As I was reading through all the updates on my friends and family this morning I was struck by all the reasons why I love Facebook. Each reason I listed in my head extended itself into a thought bubble and grew into a potential blog post. You would be here all day if I wrote in one post what went on in my head this morning so here is  post/reason number one in my series The Five Reasons Why I Love Facebook:

Why I Love Facebook: Reason Number One

This morning I read this update by one of my “friends”:

If today is the first day of the rest of my life, then the past doesn’t rule today because the future is the only direction available.”

In the blink of an eye I was inspired to take a look back at all that I have accomplished in order to move in “the only direction available“.

This morning I commented on my friend’s update:

“For much of my adult life my past ruled my present (much of which was driven by what was buried in my unconscious). Thankfully with my ever increasing faith and the guidance and support of an exceptional therapist, I am now able to live and enjoy the present.”

I love Facebook because it inspires me to express my thoughts in a more tangible manner.

thanksToday I am grateful for: all my cyber friends and ‘in real life’ friends for all your heartfelt support during my most recent ‘bump’ in the road. I intend to write about it at a future date. It is always incidents such as what recently occurred that nip at me to resurrect ‘The Whippoorwill Chronicles‘ and continue singing.

I’ve been telling my hubby that Facebook is taking the main page that blogging used to and I love it. It’s so efficient and fast to do and see so much in a glance! I still enjoy blogging and I still visit many friends, but all post less and less, especially the longer they’re on facebook. :)

    Hugs,
    Holly

Awe, I don’t remember ever being quoted before. :) It’s so important to keep reminding ourselves that the past is the past and no matter what’s back there God has something wonderful ahead of us. I’ve been working through a study called “Experiencing God”, and it is so fantastic, I can’t tell you. It’s been a wonderful, enlightening experience about nurturing a REAL, living relationship with The Father.

I’m in the same boat as Holly..loving Facebook…blogging less and less. FB is just so much quicker though I’ll still blog if I have something on my mind.

I’m glad that you have found a lot of good in Facebook. I haven’t succumbed to it yet, just because I think it would be too much for me right now.

Hoping that you are doing well…
