Why is it that…
- I need one day during the work week to catch up with my life
- I can’t go one week without buying a book(s)
- The day you buy your weekly groceries there are already more than three items that you forgot and have to go on next week’s list
Today I am grateful:
- I am able to take that one day during the work week off to catch up with my life (today is that day)
- That I have a passion for knowledge. This week the two books I bought were Lee Strobel’s The Case for Faith and Victoria Osteen’s Love Your Life. As soon as I hit the “Publish” key I will be heading to the thrift store to pick up an awesome bookcase I found there yesterday.
- That we are able to afford groceries at today’s inflated prices.
How about you? What does today find you pondering?

Danielle,
I am pondering that I, too, can’t go one week without buying a new book. And now that I’m gardening, I’m beginning to feel I can’t go a week without a new plant. But, since I have a digital camera, I can go a week without buying and processing film, so that’s something to be grateful for.
And…I’m ending a six month depressive episode and that’s really something to be grateful for!
Also, if you know Gianna at Beyond Meds, I’m hoping you’ll pray for her today. She needs all our prayers and love!

You need only 1 day to catch up on your week? Sheesh, I am really doing something wrong because it generally takes me 6 days to catch up on one day and I don’t even work! I’m so far behind -there’s some saying that goes with that but now, I can’t remember what the heck it was but my grandma always used to say it anyway.
My thing isn’t so much buying a book a week, but rather staying away from buying any more craft projects, or yarn, or fabrics! I have a huge stockpile of all these items here already and yet, I get an e-mailed sales flyer from the craft place I buy from and presto magic, a week later, a package arrives filled with more goodies to put in my stash pile and hope to heck I get around to getting them done before I croak!
Right now, I’m mid-way through knitting the sleeves for a crewneck sweater for the grandson -planned gift for Christmas, ya know -and hopefully I’ll have it all together and finished now over the weekend. THen, I can start on some other project -probably some embroidery that will take at least the better part of a month to finish and then, on to the next. And so it goes!
Peace.
I also buy books – I probably have 10 books that I need to read and I just bought three more yesterday!!
I planted lots of flowers today – one of my favorite things!
