My Joyful Journal – May 22

A memorable moment…when my husband asked that I keep my Friday (today) client list at a minimum so that he could take me to lunch.

I am grateful..for my flexible work schedule. I took today off.

I laugh..because two weeks ago every one complained about the drought and now every one is complaining about the steady rain that has brought us out of the drought season.

I love…second hand bookstores. On our trip to the big city today I am going to one of my favorites  Baroni’s Twice Read Tales.

Something new….Today we are going to try a new place in the big city called Ipanema Brazilian Steakhouse. I am soooo looking forward to lunch today. I am part Portuguese and it will be really nice to taste linguica again. I remember cookouts in our backyard when my parents would have my mother’s relatives over (the Portuguese side) and we would have the best linguicia subs!

I thought the same thing today about the rain…I’ve been praying for rain, but I wasn’t quite asking for it all at once! Oh, well…it’s been something interesting to talk about!

How marvelous that your hubby took you to lunch today – did you have a good time?

All I can think of is that song… The Girl from Ipanema ‘Tall and tan and young and lovely/ The girl from ipanema goes walking…’

I love old bookstores too, like a little kid in a candy store.

I’ve always thought it rather amusing that we are never satisfied with the weather we are having: too cold, too hot; too dry, too wet; too still, too windy. :D

Glad the you and your hubby were able to have lunch together.

This is my favorite bookstore, new/used, in Portland. Most book lovers who visit the city don’t feel like they’ve arrived until they’ve gone to Powell’s:

I’ve been dealing with a rotten sinus headache most of the weekend but that’s just a part of life for me at this time of year so I try not to let it affect whatever I’m doing. I’ve had a great weekend off and I hope you are, too!
