Busy Week

Busy Week

Whew! Have I ever been swamped this week.

  • The summer semester is off and running – quite a few “I can’t believe students these days” stories.
  • Wrapping up the 2008-2009 counseling year – treatment progress summaries and recommendations.
  • Setting up my counseling schedule for the summer – not a full load but enough to keep me on my toes.
  • Pulling together Miss Sam’s ninth grade curriculum and subject notebooks.
  • Shopping with Miss Sam for items to make her Cosplay costume to wear to her first Anime Convention.
  • Book store shopping – always a pleasure – my ‘to read’ stack has grown by these books: Enemy Women by Paulette Jules and The Widow of the South by Robert Hicks (found these gems – for me – while researching books for Miss Sam to read when we start the Civil War in the fall).
  • Researching Pastoral Counseling certification programs
  • Contemplating plan of action for the two memory boxes that made it down from the attic.

Hope to spend this afternoon transcribing letters from one of the memory boxes and starting the book Very Valentine by Adriana Trigiani. I finished The Associate by John Grisham last night – great book but the ending was really, really disappointing. It just seemed to drop into thin air.

Today I am grateful: that I can arrange my summer work schedule so that I can enjoy a three day weekend all through the summer!

Hello, Danielle! My, it’s been a long, long time! I had to google to find you!

I’m back on my dot com again, mostly a photo blog… at least that’s my goal. Still dreaming of the day I’ll give in and commit to a dSLR camera!

I love your Sam’s corner! Awesome! Glad to see you’re still homeschooling!

You mentioned the Civil War – I have a book called The Killer Angels by Michael Shaara on my TBR (to be read) Shelf that has been highly, highly recommended to me. Amazon shows an average rating of 4.5 with 530 customer reviews! That says something! :) Not sure if you are interested, but thought I’d pass on the info.
