Thoughts on Writing

Pen Paper and Computer

Well, I gave it my best shot.

I took pen to paper. It didn’t work out.

I took fingers to keyboard. It didn’t work out.

Yet, when I am driving down the road my mind goes ninety to nothing (kinda like my car) with thoughts and words and actually great pieces of “literary genius”.

So I have been pricing digital recorders.

I write some of my best poems when I’m driving or drifting off to sleep. Sometimes I remember them when it’s time to write them… sometimes I do not. :-D

Oh, I so know what you are talking about! I get my best inspiration in the shower and forget half of it before I towel off. Here is my best advice. Just write! Don’t worry about how good or bad it is. Don’t try to edit it. Just put the words down on paper and before you know it, they will begin to flow from you. Then, you can go back and throw away the beginning if you want and just keep what it good. But, JUST WRITE!

I have these insightful thoughts on the way to work and I think “I’ll blog that” then by the time I get home and have time to write them down…I have nothing.

My concern about doing that is that I’ll discover that i’m not a genius!

That sounds like a great idea to me. Pen/paper/computer/etc…are never handy when those thoughts and ideas pop into my head.

Then you’ll need a transcription program so you can get it in written format…lol.
