I uncovered three of my old diaries when I took those old ‘memory’ boxes down from the attic. Here is my entry for today…forty years ago. My age??????? Okay. Okay. I was fourteen when I wrote this:

Dear Diary,
This morning Ma, I and Deb went uptown and got a pattern.
Joann and I walked to school. We picked a rose up at Dean Junior College.
Played “coffee pot” in gym. BORING
Mom made the dress!
So does anyone know what “coffee pot” is???????
How about this entry….is it even a tad bit more exciting????

Dear Diary,
The dress code has been abolished. Hallelujah! Keith says he’ll wear frilly shirts.
English was alright. Jim and I got in trouble in Geometry for talking.
Jackson thinks he’s a hot ticket.
Flavio kept “looking’ in study. He was all dressed up for his class pictures. What a doll!
Tony almost skipped computer programming.
Hmmmm…perhaps I was just a “regular” teen after all! How many boys’ names did I mention?????

Too cute! I loved reading this. I didn’t have a diary at 14, but if I did it would be very similar to yours! However, I don’t think I would have used the term “hot ticket.” LOL
How fun! I think I attempted to keep a diary maybe two or three times, but I never stayed interested long enough. Instead, I was more into writing some pretty poor fiction and illustrating those stories. The illustrations weren’t bad…the stories? Ugh.
In case you’re wondering, EVERYTHING I ever wrote (stories, attempted diaries, letters, and so on) was ripped to shreds by the time I finished high school. I didn’t want any evidence around!
Now that was fun! Lots of boys names in there! and you know what? i remember distinctly when the dress code was abolished at my school..I was in the 7th grade.
I would have liked to meet a boy named Flavio sounds cool. I never kept a diary my blog now is the closest I have ever come.
Ha! This makes me want to find my teenage diaries!
How fun! When my daughter was young I had her write down her goals each New Year’s Day. It’s fun to look at them and see where they compared to her life today!
