My Daybook ~ August 26

The weather in my neck of the woods:

Overcast. A perfect day to stay home and piddle. However, I had a client this morning and a class tonight. So I think I will update my blog in between.

A simple pleasure:

Having Chinese with a friend before my six o’clock class.

I am thankful:

That I have two jobs that I love.

From the kitchen:

Oatmeal from the microwave right now. Hold on a sec while I go stir it up.

I am working on:

Staying sane as the lazy days of summer draw to a close.

From the learning rooms:

Sam is going to learn to clean her room today….again.

I am reading:

The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong. I just started reading it last night (in-between traffic stops) so I don’t know how good it will be. The beginning however catches your attention so I hope that continues.

Devotional/Scripture Readings/Key Verses:

Exodus 4:1

Moses answered, “What if they do not believe me or listen to me and say, ‘The Lord did not appear to you’?”

Moses’ reluctance and fear were caused by overanticipation. He was worried about how the people might respond to him.

We often build up events in our minds and then panic over what might go wrong.

God does not ask us to go where he has not provided the means to help.

Go where he leads, trusting him to supply courage, confidence, and resources at the right moment.

Do you think you could make either of my daughters “learn” to clean their rooms again?

It amazes me. Surely it takes just as much effort to shove the clothes in the bottom of the closet as it does to put them on the hanger! Under the bed and the toy box…same problem!!

I told them if I had to come in and clean it, things were going to go missing. If they cant keep the things they have cleaned up and put away, then they obviously have too many things! It’s logical to me…but not them!
