Spent the week decompressing from two and a half years spent in the role of Mental Health Counselor. You don’t realize how much you can be consumed by something until you have the strength to walk away from it.
I immersed myself in:
- family
- scrapbooking
- reading
- yard work
- going to the movies (The Blind Side was wonderful!!)
and taking a photo or two:

Plans for today:
- plant some Amaryllis bulbs my mother-in-law graciously dug up from her yard to give to me
That’s about it until it’s time to go teach in the big city later this afternoon/evening.

Danielle,
Great photos! I agree that there’s a Zen about doing yard work. I keeping thinking that I’ll begin scrapbooking at some point–and you’ll be my inspiration. And this is the first time ever that I’m going to plant bulbs!

I took a photo yesterday very similiar to your first one! We spotted a young gator and an even younger one floating off the dock at the restaurant where we had lunch. Love the anhinga photo!
Sounds like the perfect week! Enjoy the rest and recovering of yourself. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Your photos are fabulous! Florida has such a great variety of wildlife to snap. Great capture on the heron.
