At work, we have this old train engine on display. They put a blow up Santa in the engineer’s place. He hangs out the window and waves at passersby. The first year, his blower was on a timer and the first morning, when staff came to work he was hanging limply over the side of the engine like he had been shot. Must have scared some little kids! They took him off the timer and he doesn’t look bad though generally I don’t like those kind of things. Day after Thanksgiving usually is my favorite time too, but I had the blahs this year. I, too, enjoy the holiday lights. And, since I’ve decided to play music at some seniors assisted living facilities for the holidays, I’ll be spending the next few weeks practicing Christmas and Hanukkah songs!
