About Me

Photobucket

Hello! I am Danielle - welcome to my website. I live in Florida with my husband, daughter and our son dog Marbles. I currently teach Introduction to Psychology and Developmental Psychology at a local college. I am a trained Mental Health Counselor and an amateur photographer. I am currently developing a small business to combine my passion for photography with my heart for encouraging people.

My personal interests revolve around my family. I love to go fishing with my husband. Although I don’t like to actually fish, being able to go out and explore (by boat) the many lakes and rivers that are in our area (not to mention fishing out in the Gulf of Mexico) is a photographer’s dream come true. We manage the stresses of parenting a teenager by playing golf together at the many golf courses available throughout the state of Florida. My daughter and I enjoy shopping together and discovering new books to read. She also enjoys a day of fishing out on the boat. She actually loves baiting the hook and of course, reeling in the big one.

My academic interests revolve around the science of our behaviors and mental processes. In other words, I love teaching, researching and writing about why we do the things we do. My interest in psychology is one of the few interests that have remained stable over time. If I am not out photographing the absolutely stunning wildlife that lives here in the state of Florida, you can be sure to find me reading my favorite magazine Scientific American Mind or writing an article about how everything in our lives is just ‘a matter of perspective’.

My professional interests are continually evolving. I began my professional career as a behavioral specialist and went on to add career counselor and college educator to my career catalog. I have owned two small businesses. The first was a superior cleaning business. My second business venture was a consulting business targeting new moms and mothers of toddlers. Each business experienced relative success. In five years, the cleaning business grew to employ up to seven employees at any given time. The consulting business enjoyed a span of seven years. During that time, my business partner and I wrote one book and developed and presented a variety of workshops.

My altruistic interests revolve around the belief that all children deserve a good life. Currently I provide counseling services to local agencies for pre-school age children.

I would love to hear from you. If you would like to share your personal story or just say hello be sure to visit the Contact Me page. Thanks for stopping by and learning more about the woman behind the webpage.
